After a successful first canning weekend, A-7 stepped it up again and raised a lot more money for the kids! With this being the last canning weekend for THON 2017, our focus is now on alternative fundraisers, THONvelopes, and Donation Boxes to continue to build on our great start! If you are interested in learning more about some of our alternative fundraisers, click on the links below or email any of our executives to find out about how you can get involved! Perfect Couple's Game Show Benefitting THON NFL Ticket Raffle Benefitting THON Plato's Closet Clothing Drive Benefitting THON This past weekend, A-7 participated in one of the largest THON fundraisers of the year, canning! A new era in A-7 lore is about to begin, as the impending graduations of Josh "Young Money" Miller and Matt "Bad to the" Allibone has opened up two new executives spots. Luckily, we have two worthy A-7ers ready to fill the void. We introduce to you, A-7's newest execs. Dana Kyle - Fundraising Dana is a sophomore from Milton, Pennsylvania, who is majoring in Public Relations. She has been a loyal member of A-7 since fall of her freshman year, and served as co-canning chair this year. She has also been a member of the Rules and Regulations and Special Events Committees. Apart from THON, Dana is heavily involved in Penn State Homecoming and will serve as a PR captain next fall, after being an OPP captain in 2014. She also works at the Corner Room, loves basketball, country music and recently was able to squat 185 LBS!!! Brandon Ostrow - Communications
Brandon is a junior from Yardley, Pennsylvania, who is majoring in Chemistry. He has been committed to A-7 since the beginning of his sophomore year, and helped run the organizations weekend operations this year as a weekend chair. He was also a colonel for A-7 this past year as well. When he's not fundraising for THON, Brandon is most likely busy doing a lab report, dominating in IM soccer or being the most passionate Philadelphia sports fan living in State College. (FYI, he's pro-Hinkie and pro-Chip). He also supports his Nittany Lions and is known for throwing the best football tailgates Penn State has seen in years. Carrie Clark Carolyn Clark, better known as Carrie, has been an active member of A-7 since the fall of her freshman year (back in 2011). She hails from Philadelphia, Pa, and studies Communications, Sciences and Disorders. During her four years here, she has been a member of the Morale Committee twice, Communications once and Special Events this year. She is currently A-7's Donor Relations chair and was previously the Recruitment chair. She can almost always be found with a smile on her face and loves the color purple. Craig Aman Craig Aman is in his third year as a member of A-7. He is a native of Hawthorne, N.J., and studies Risk Management. This year, Craig has helped lead fundraising operations as A-7's Alternative Fundraising chair. He has hatched creative new fundraisers like our Halloween Costume Contest and a Video Game Tournament, to go along with classics like the Bake Sale and Date Auction. Apart from THON, Craig is actively involved in UPAC at Penn State and also enjoys creating his own board games and being an awesome boyfriend to 2014 A-7 THON Dancer, Casey McCann (the red-head cutout in the picture). Evan Aleksejczyk
Evan Aleksejczyk (man that's hard to type continuously) is also in his third year in A-7. He is from Newtown, Pa., and studies Civil Engineering. The past two years, Evan has been one of A-7's Canning/Canvassing Chairs and helped the org raise over $43,000 last year. He is on the Donor and Alumni Relations Committee this year and has previously been on Rules and Regulations. A passionate and avid fan of giraffes, Evan also loves playing soccer, enjoying good food and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams. |
